Today the world seems more messed up than it was yesterday. Cory Monteith, who played Finn Hudson in the hit American TV series Glee, was found dead in his hotel room in Vancouver. He was 31.
When I woke up this morning the news was all over Radio whateveritis I have my alarm set to. I thought it was my dream but then BBC news showed the Vancouver PD holding a press conference confirming Cory was found dead at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel.
Mailonline say that Cory checked into the hotel about a week ago and was supposed to check out again yesterday. But he didn’t so the hotel security went to check on him and found him laying dead on his bed.
Reports say that he’d spent the evening out with his friends and had returned to the hotel in the early hours of the morning. It’s also been reported (not confirmed) that Cory may have died of a drug overdose. There’ll be an autopsy on Monday, so we’ll find out then.
Cory’s representative released this sad statement:
We are so saddened to confirm that the reports on the death of Cory Monteith are accurate. We are in shock and mourning this tragic loss.
And Glee producers put out their own version of the sadness about an hour ago via a statement on Twitter:
Where more is there to say? This is very sad.
Rest in peace, Cory Monteith.
